Update March 29

Hi all: Just sold the sofa sleeper this morning for $50. It has served us well, and it's kind of sad to see it go (it has been Dawn's bed for the last six months). But no place to put it in the new furnished apartment we are moving into in a couple of days. Sold it to a guy who lives kiddy-corner across a lawn and drainage ditch from us. Funny, we advertised it in Craigslist for all of Fort Myers, and sold it to a guy 50 yards from us who who hauled it to his place on a hand truck! Well, greetings to our friends and family. Since my last update, we've done a couple of interesting things. First was the annual "Book Reading Festival," held in downtown Fort Myers March 19 at the Harborside Event Center and Centennial Park. We had lunch there at one of the outdoor food vendors, "Little Joe's Special Events." Greetings from Fort Myers. I've just returned from the "11: Eleven" cafe located in an inconspicuous strip mall along San Carlos Blvd. Their specialty is grilled cheese sandwiches. Not the Kraft American Cheese Slices grilled cheese sandwiches of our youth, but adult cheese sandwiches. Real cheeses like cheddar, Swiss, smoked Gouda, Havarti, and so forth, served on hearty breads including sourdough, marble rye, or sun dried tomato swirl. Lactose intolerant people beware: This is probably not the restaurant for you, though they do have a few non-cheese options. Just the sight of three slices of melted cheese oozing from panini grilled bread will be enough to make your colon clench. But if you love cheese (Wisconsin born and bred, hello ...?) you will definitely get your curd on at this place. My cheese-gasm of cheddar, Swiss, and Pepper Jack on grilled sourdough arrived at my table piping hot along with a side of their signature marinated apples ... freshly chunked Granny...
